The Community Counseling and Assessment Clinic received a generous donation from the Hattiesburg Historic Neighborhood Association (HHNA) on Friday. The gift of $2,000 will help to offset fees for clients who have difficulty affording mental health services provided by the clinic.
Services at the clinic are provided by graduate students in the Counseling Psychology program under the supervision of program faculty. As a training clinic, it is important to us to keep our fees as affordable as we can. Thus, fees for counseling services are billed on a sliding scale based on one's ability to pay, and additional reductions are often granted in cases of financial hardship.
This donation reflects the HHNA's appreciation for the volunteer work the graduate students in the Counseling Psychology program have done at the Crawfish Jam for the last three years. We are grateful for their help and welcome the opportunity to serve more people in the Hattiesburg area in need of mental health services.
