In accordance with the University of Southern Mississippi's schedule, the Community Counseling and Assessment Clinic will closed on December 7 and will reopen on January 17. We are unable to provide services during this time. Anyone needing services prior to January 17 should contact another provider.

Mental Health Month, and this year's theme - Life With a Mental Illness - is being described as a call to action aimed at encouraging people to share what the experience of mental illness feels like in order to help others who may be struggling to explain what they are going through, encourage others to recognize symptoms earlier, and to reduce stigma. The hope is that this campaign will help people be more comfortable in seeking the help they need.

The Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA) is sponsoring a free webinar on anxiety by David Carbonell, Ph.D. on Tuesday, April 12 at 6:00 pm CT. In "How to Worry Less," Dr. Carbonell will discuss the nature of chronic worry and explain how our efforts to stop worrying often make the problem worse. He will demonstrate how to reduce worry and refocus one's time and energy in other areas.
